Job Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in behavioral health, psychiatric nursing, or a similar acute mental health setting
• Experience working with adult mental health patients in a locked inpatient unit
• Ability to administer medications using an automated dispensing system
• Current BLS certification from the AHA
• Handle with Care (HWC) certification preferred; may be completed on site if needed
• BSN preferred
• Strong communication skills, flexibility, and a calm, compassionate approach to patient care

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, therapeutic nursing care to adult behavioral health and psychiatric patients
• Administer medications and monitor patient response in a locked psychiatric setting
• Support patients with diagnoses such as bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, major depression, substance use concerns, and chronic medical conditions
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, rehabilitation staff, nursing colleagues, and social workers to support individualized treatment plans
• Monitor vital signs, point-of-care blood glucose, and other routine clinical needs
• Maintain a trauma-informed, patient-centered approach in a fast-paced behavioral health environment
• Contribute to a collaborative healthcare team focused on safety, quality outcomes, and compassionate mental health care
