Travel Registered Nurse – Special Care Nursery Level 2 in Somerset, Kentucky

Join a travel nursing team in Somerset, Kentucky, and provide specialized neonatal care in a supportive Acute Special Care Nursery. This 13-week travel Registered Nurse assignment offers the opportunity to work in a well-established Level 2 nursery, care for high-acuity infants, and collaborate with experienced clinicians in a fast-paced Kentucky healthcare setting near Lake Cumberland.

• Hours: 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800-$1,890
• Weekend Commitment: 2 weekend shifts per month
• Call: None
• Orientation: Weekly orientation on Mondays
• Patient Ratios: 1:2 to 1:3

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• Minimum of 2 years of Level 2 nursery or higher NICU experience
• Current NRP certification
• Current STABLE certification
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to float to Mother/Baby Postpartum as needed
• Experience caring for neonates, full-term, early-term, and pre-term patient populations
• Comfort working in Meditech/GE Centricity is helpful

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to infants in a Special Care Nursery Level 2 environment
• Monitor and support neonates requiring interventions such as NAS/NOWS care, TTN management, IV antibiotics, Bubble CPAP, and OG/NG feeds
• Assist with deliveries and be prepared to initiate and run NRP resuscitation when needed
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support high-quality outcomes and efficient patient flow
• Document patient care accurately and maintain strong communication with nurses, providers, and support staff
• Float to Mother/Baby Postpartum when assigned
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment focused on excellent neonatal and acute care nursing
