• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
• Setting: Adult inpatient psychiatric unit / behavioral health unit
• Location: Salem, MA
• Employment Type: Travel RN
• Start Date: September 20, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Schedule: Rotating day/evening/night coverage with every other weekend; night positions do not require rotation
• Patient Ratio: 1 RN to 7-8 patients
• Charting System: Epic

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of inpatient adult psychiatric nursing experience
• Active Massachusetts RN license
• Current AHA BLS certification
• Experience with behavioral health nursing and adult psychiatric care preferred
• Experience using an automated medication dispensing system preferred
• Strong understanding of psychotropic medications and associated side effects
• Ability to assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed
• Competence with admissions, discharges, IV pumps, and diabetic patient care
• Comfortable working with adults ages 18-65 in a structured inpatient psychiatric setting
• Willingness to float and work rotating shifts as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care for adults with conditions such as anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, suicidal ideation, and dual diagnosis
• Support patients with behavioral health needs and selected medically acute needs, including IV care, CPAP support, wound care, and diabetic management
• Administer medications accurately and monitor for therapeutic response and side effects
• Complete patient admissions, discharges, and ongoing nursing assessments
• Serve as charge nurse when needed and help coordinate unit workflow
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to promote a safe, therapeutic environment
• Document thoroughly and accurately in the Epic charting system
• Maintain a professional, patient-first approach in a fast-paced inpatient psychiatric environment
