- Schedule: Every other weekend; holidays as needed; no call
- Floating: Expected to float to other units within skill set
Job Requirements
- Active RN license
- At least 1 year of recent Med-Surg, Telemetry, or Step-Down/PCU experience required; 2 years preferred
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification required
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Ability to manage a wide variety of diagnoses and adapt to changing patient needs
- Charge Nurse experience or willingness to consider charge responsibilities is a plus
- Comfortable using Cerner documentation systems
Responsibilities
- Receive admitted patients from the ED and help complete admission assessments
- Perform medication reconciliation and initiate acute care orders
- Support patient safety, quality care, and efficient throughput in a clinical decision unit
- Collaborate with the care team in a high-turnover, team-oriented Telemetry / PCU setting
- Monitor telemetry patients and respond appropriately to changes in condition
- Float within your skill set as needed to support patient care across related units
- Contribute to a positive patient and family experience through timely, compassionate care
