Job Details
- Position: PACU RN / Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Registered Nurse
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: 09/13/2026
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
- Shift Schedule: Primarily nights, with shifts scheduled between 6:00 AM and 11:30 PM; 50% day/evening rotation
- Weekend Requirement: Up to 2 weekend shifts per month
- Openings: 3
- Location: Boston, MA 02114
Job Requirements
- Active RN license
- 3+ years of Registered Nurse experience
- 1+ years of travel PACU experience
- 1+ years of experience in an academic medical center
- Strong knowledge of post-anesthesia recovery, surgical recovery, and patient monitoring
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced perioperative and surgical recovery environment
- Completion of required onboarding and compliance documentation
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures
- Monitor vital signs, pain levels, airway status, and post-operative condition in the PACU
- Assess patients for complications and respond quickly to changes in condition
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiology, and perioperative team members to ensure safe patient transitions
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and recovery progress accurately in the medical record
- Support a positive patient experience through compassionate, attentive bedside care
- Maintain compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and unit expectations
