Job Details
- Position: Operating Room Registered Nurse (Travel Nurse)
- Location: Springfield, IL
- Start Date: 09/14/2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 4x10-hour evening shifts, 13:00-22:00
- Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week
- On-Call: 1 shift per week, as needed
- Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend per month
- Orientation: 40 hours
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,450-$2,580
- Charting System: Cerner preferred
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2.5 years of recent Operating Room RN experience
- Active Illinois RN license in hand at time of submission or in active application process
- Current BLS certification required
- CNOR preferred
- Experience in general OR and trauma surgery required
- Level I trauma experience required
- Ability to work with all service lines except cardiovascular surgery
- Experience with a wide range of surgical cases and instrumentation
- Willingness to take call and support rotating weekend coverage
- Travel nursing experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room
- Prepare, assist, and circulate for complex surgical procedures across multiple service lines
- Support case management for general surgery, trauma, neurology, orthopedics, plastics, urology, and transplant-related procedures
- Maintain strong knowledge of sterile technique, infection prevention, and universal protocol standards
- Assist with emergency response situations, including code response and malignant hyperthermia protocols
- Handle specimens, blood products, and surgical equipment safely and accurately
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure smooth OR workflow
- Adapt to changing surgical needs and provide support within your scope of practice
