- Location: Richmond, VA – West End (23226)
- Duration: 16 weeks
- Start Date: 8/31/2026
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Schedule: 36 hours per week; every other weekend and major holidays required
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910–$2,010
- Patient Population: Neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, and adults
Job Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of practice or compact license
- At least 1 year of Emergency Department RN experience required
- Experience with conscious sedation required
- BLS and ACLS required
- CPI/de-escalation training required
- EPIC experience preferred
- PALS not required for this adult ED role, but is a plus
- Ability to pass an EKG exam at orientation
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-intensity emergency care environment
Responsibilities
- Provide, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care for emergency department patients
- Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized plans of care
- Administer medications safely and in accordance with nursing standards
- Prioritize care for patients with urgent and life-threatening conditions
- Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary care team to support optimal patient outcomes
- Deliver compassionate care to patients and families during stressful and unpredictable situations
- Support patient safety, quality improvement, and efficient care coordination throughout the department
- Assist with triage, stabilization, resuscitation, and emergency interventions as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate clearly with team members across shifts
- Adapt quickly to changing patient volume and acuity in a busy ED setting
