- Position: NICU Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
- Location: Tacoma, WA 98405
- Unit: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Shifts per Week: Typically 3 shifts per week based on 36 guaranteed hours
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Duration: 19 weeks
- Start Date: 09/08/2026
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,250 - $2,370
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
- On-Call: No
- EMR: EPIC
Job Requirements
- 2 years of recent Level III-IV NICU experience required
- Active Washington State RN license required
- BLS certification required
- NRP certification required
- Experience with ventilator support and respiratory care required
- Strong skills in g-tubes, NG/OG tubes, NCPAP, UAC/UVC management, PICC lines, medication administration, care plans, and discharge planning
- Travel nursing experience preferred, but first-time travelers may be considered
- Positive attitude, adaptability, and strong communication skills valued
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care for premature and critically ill newborns in a high-acuity NICU setting
- Monitor and support infants with conditions such as prematurity, RDS, NAS, and high-risk deliveries
- Manage ventilators and other respiratory support devices for neonatal patients
- Perform comprehensive assessments, administer medications, and collaborate on individualized neonatal care plans
- Assist with UAC/UVC management, PICC line care, and feeding support for infants requiring advanced neonatal care
- Support discharge planning and help prepare infants and families for transition home
- Contribute to a collaborative healthcare team focused on excellent patient outcomes
- Float rarely as needed to support patient care needs
