Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric/Neonatal Transport role requiring PICU, Level IV NICU, and recent transport experience.
Details
- >Work within the Pediatric Transport unit of a 152-bed Level 2 trauma and Level 4 NICU facility serving the Puget Sound region and eastern Washington
- Provide interhospital transport of pediatric and neonatal patients via ground ambulance or fixed/rotor wing aircraft
- Treat common diagnoses including HIE, ppHN, asthma, respiratory illness, sepsis, DKA, metabolic disorders, trauma, ingestions, congenital heart defects, cancer, and NEC
- Facility offers CRRT and ECMO capabilities
- Transport team consists of 1 RN, 1 RT, and an EMT driver, partnering with NW Ambulance and Airlift Northwest
- 12-hour night shifts, rotating 7p-7a or 7a-7p
- 36 hours per week with every other weekend rotation
- No on-call requirements
- Float to other units or serve as helping hands when not on transport assignments
- Uses Phillips monitors, Hamilton ventilators, Braun and Baxter IV pumps, Tecotherm, Zoll defibrillators, Cross Vent, Stryker gurneys, and transport isolettes
- Charting completed in EPIC and Zoll emsCHARTS
- Black scrubs required
Requirements
- >Active WA state RN license or compact license required
- Current BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
- TNCC and STABLE certifications preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in PEDS ED/PICU and Level IV NICU, including at least 1 year in each area
- At least 3 years of neonatal/pediatric transport experience within the last 5 years
- Skilled in airway management, vasoactive drip/infusion administration, non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP/HFNC), respiratory inhaled medication administration, and IV/IO access
Additional Information
- >Participate in safety day training as part of orientation covering ambulance and aircraft equipment
- First-time travelers will be considered for this role
- Weekend rotation required every other weekend
