- Setting: Acute care Cardiac Stepdown / Intermediate Care
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts
- Shifts per Week: 3 shifts
- Shift Duration: 12 hours
- Hours per Week: 36 hours
- Rotation: Nights, weekends, and holidays with rotation participation
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130-$2,250
- Start Date: 8/31/2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Unit Size: 32 private rooms
- Charting System: EPIC
- Medication System: Pyxis
- Orientation: One day with the education team and one day of floor orientation
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license
- At least 1 year of recent acute care nursing experience required
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry rhythms
- Comfortable caring for patients with chest tubes
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification
- Current NIHSS certification
- Experience in stepdown, telemetry, cardiac, or similar acute care settings preferred
- Ability to adapt quickly and float as needed based on patient care needs
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for patients with complex medical and surgical conditions
- Care for patients with diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, diabetes, sepsis, renal disorders, DKA, pneumonia, alcohol withdrawal, and overdose
- Manage patients requiring BiPAP, CPAP, tracheostomy care, chest tubes, NG tubes, PICC lines, central lines, and post-ablation or cath lab monitoring
- Monitor telemetry and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and support safe, efficient care using EPIC and Pyxis
- Collaborate with the care team to support a patient ratio of approximately 3-4 patients per nurse
- Float to ICU or general medical floors as needed based on experience and unit staffing needs
- Maintain a professional, team-oriented approach while delivering compassionate bedside care
