• Setting: Cardiovascular Intensive Care / Critical Care Unit
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Schedule Notes: Every other weekend required; holidays as needed; float within specialty to IMC and lower-acuity areas as needed

Job Requirements

• Active Maryland RN license or compact RN license at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of CVICU experience required
• First-time travelers may be considered with extensive CVICU or open-heart experience; 2+ years preferred
• BLS and ACLS required
• Prior travel nurse experience required
• Epic experience preferred
• Strong critical care background with comfort caring for post-op cardiac patients
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity cardiovascular ICU and float within scope

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients in the CVICU
• Care for patients recovering from CABG, valve repair/replacement, vascular, and thoracic procedures
• Monitor and manage patients requiring ventilator support, CRRT, IABP, Impella, and FloTrac
• Support arterial line, central line, and chest tube care as clinically indicated
• Titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips while closely monitoring hemodynamic status
• Assess and manage dysrhythmias, invasive lines, and advanced cardiac monitoring equipment
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy and the interdisciplinary critical care team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
• Float to IMC or other lower-acuity specialty areas within scope when needed
