Job Details
- Position: PCU Registered Nurse (Progressive Care Unit RN)
- Type: Travel RN / Travel Nurse Job
- Location: Kansas City, Missouri
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
- Unit Focus: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stroke & Brain
- Bed Size: 16-bed unit
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 1 year of recent acute care nursing experience preferred; PCU RN or telemetry nurse experience strongly desired
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and stroke care
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Ability to care for patients with cardiac drips and neurology-related needs
- Comfort working in a fast-paced progressive care environment
- Flexibility to float based on demonstrated competency, when needed
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality bedside care for progressive care patients with stroke and neurological conditions
- Monitor telemetry and manage cardiac drips according to unit protocols
- Perform thorough assessments and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support safe, effective patient outcomes
- Document accurately in the electronic health record
- Maintain compliance with unit policies, safety standards, and infection prevention practices
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a team-oriented setting
