• Position: PCU Registered Nurse (Progressive Care Unit RN)
• Type: Travel RN / Travel Nurse Job
• Location: Kansas City, Missouri
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
• Unit Focus: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stroke & Brain
• Bed Size: 16-bed unit

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of recent acute care nursing experience preferred; PCU RN or telemetry nurse experience strongly desired
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and stroke care
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Ability to care for patients with cardiac drips and neurology-related needs
• Comfort working in a fast-paced progressive care environment
• Flexibility to float based on demonstrated competency, when needed

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality bedside care for progressive care patients with stroke and neurological conditions
• Monitor telemetry and manage cardiac drips according to unit protocols
• Perform thorough assessments and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support safe, effective patient outcomes
• Document accurately in the electronic health record
• Maintain compliance with unit policies, safety standards, and infection prevention practices
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a team-oriented setting
