Travel RN opportunity in Schenectady, New York for an experienced Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse. Join a high-acuity cardiac critical care team in the Capital Region and provide advanced care for post-operative cardiac surgery patients and critically ill adults in a fast-paced CVICU setting.

• Floating: Required within competency, including step-down and med surg as needed

Job Requirements

• Active New York RN license required by start date
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience required
• Minimum of 1 year of specialty experience in CVICU, cardiac ICU, or a similar cardiovascular critical care setting required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Strong cardiac surgery experience required, including care of patients directly from the OR to ICU
• Experience with CABG procedures, valve surgeries, Swan-Ganz monitoring, and IABP management required
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred, but not required
• Ability to adapt to a high-acuity, collaborative critical care environment

Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care for critically ill cardiovascular and post-operative cardiac surgery patients
• Monitor hemodynamic status and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Care for patients requiring advanced cardiac support, including invasive monitoring and mechanical devices
• Collaborate closely with physicians, surgical teams, and interdisciplinary staff to support safe, effective patient care
• Deliver care for patients recovering from CABG and valve procedures, as well as other complex cardiac interventions
• Float to step-down and medical-surgical areas within scope and competency when needed
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to an efficient workflow in the unit
• Support patient safety, quality care, and strong teamwork throughout every shift
