PACU Registered Nurse travel contract in San Marcos, Texas. Join a fast-paced Post Anesthesia Care Unit and deliver high-quality recovery nursing care in a collaborative surgical setting near Austin and San Antonio.

• Schedule: 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts; 4x10s can be accommodated

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,750 - $1,840

Job Requirements

• 2 years of experience in a related nursing specialty required
• Current Texas RN license or compact state nursing license
• Current BLS certification (AHA only)
• Current ACLS certification (AHA only)
• Current PALS certification (AHA only)
• Critical Care, PreOp, and EPIC experience strongly preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Ability to complete orientation, competency validation, and annual competency requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide independent, compassionate PACU nursing care to post-anesthesia patients
• Perform patient assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments according to facility protocols
• Monitor patients for treatment effectiveness, complications, and side effects during recovery
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, interventions, and care provided in EPIC or other EMR systems
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on recovery needs, discharge instructions, and next steps
• Support a varied surgical population including general surgery, orthopedics, urology, ENT, cath lab, endoscopy, GYN, and pediatric cases
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and the healthcare team to ensure safe, efficient post-anesthesia recovery
