Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related nursing specialty required
• Active Texas RN license or compact state RN license required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• BSN preferred
• Strong clinical skills caring for cardiac stepdown patients with respiratory concerns, sepsis, and multiple co-morbidities
• Ability to work independently, prioritize care, make appropriate assignments, and delegate effectively

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Monitor and care for patients with mixed diagnoses and varying acuity levels in an acute care setting
• Administer medications and treatments according to established hospital protocols and care plans
• Observe for side effects and evaluate patient response to treatment and interventions
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly in the medical record
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers
• Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to support safe, effective, and compassionate patient outcomes
