Join a fast-paced emergency department in Madison, WI, where you will provide high-quality care to patients across the lifespan in a busy, high-acuity setting. This 13-week travel nursing opportunity is ideal for an experienced ER nurse who thrives in an academic medical center environment and is confident caring for adult and pediatric patients with urgent and emergent needs. - Start Date: September 14, 2026
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Shift Schedule: Evening/night coverage with 12-hour shifts and occasional 8-hour shifts as needed; start times may include 3:00 PM or 7:00 PM
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Required
- Float Requirement: May float as needed
- Orientation: 20 hours
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,070-$2,180
Job Requirements
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of emergency department nursing experience, including adult and pediatric populations, within the last 3 years
- Epic experience required
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required from AHA only
- Telemetry exam required prior to start with strict passing criteria
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Strong clinical background in high-acuity emergency care
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving, team-based environment
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, timely, and compassionate care to patients presenting with urgent and emergent conditions
- Assess, triage, and prioritize patients with a wide range of emergency diagnoses
- Care for adult and pediatric patients with complex medical, trauma, cardiac, stroke, and behavioral health needs
- Administer medications, monitor responses, and support stabilization of critically ill patients
- Perform and assist with emergency interventions, including IV therapy, airway support, and procedural monitoring
- Collaborate closely with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary team members to support optimal patient outcomes
- Document accurately in Epic and maintain strong communication throughout the shift
- Float as needed and support the needs of a high-volume emergency department
