Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 2 years of pediatric acute care, pediatric stepdown, or pediatric med-surg experience
• Current BLS and PALS certifications from AHA
• Epic experience required
• Ability to pass a telemetry exam prior to start
• Experience with CPAP, BiPAP, tracheostomy care, ventilator support, and telemetry monitoring preferred
• Comfort working with pediatric patients across a range of acuity, including stepdown and intermediate care
• Ability to float as needed

Pediatric Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide attentive bedside nursing care for pediatric cardiac stepdown patients
• Monitor telemetry and respond appropriately to rhythm changes and clinical deterioration
• Care for patients with respiratory needs including CPAP, BiPAP, tracheostomy, and ventilator support
• Support patients with neurological, diabetic, nephrology, and post-surgical needs
• Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and maintain accurate documentation in Epic
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote safe, effective patient outcomes
• Deliver compassionate care to infants, adolescents, and pediatric patients in a family-centered setting
• Maintain readiness for floating assignments and changing patient needs
