Job Details
- Location: Chattanooga, TN 37404
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 12-hour day shifts
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,550 - $1,630
- Unit Type: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Patient Ratio: 6:1
- Shift Pattern: Equivalent of every other weekend
- Start Date: August 24, 2026
Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 1 year of recent nursing experience in a PCU, telemetry, cardiac step-down, or similar acute care setting
- Active BLS and ACLS certification
- NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred or required based on unit needs
- Strong cardiac knowledge and comfort managing telemetry patients
- Experience with heparin, Cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, and amiodarone drips
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment
- Experience with Meditech charting is a plus
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care to progressive care patients with cardiac and medical-surgical needs
- Monitor telemetry rhythms and document strip interpretation accurately each shift
- Administer and titrate complex IV infusions per protocol and provider orders
- Perform bedside rounding, hourly rounding, and ongoing patient safety checks
- Manage chest tubes, wound vacs, and other unit-specific procedures as assigned
- Collaborate with charge nurses, PCTs, hospitalists, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Float to other medical-surgical or PCU areas when needed based on skill mix
- Maintain professional appearance and follow unit policies, including telemetry and alarm response standards
