Travel Nurse Job Details
- Job Title: PCU Registered Nurse - Travel Assignment
- Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Cardiac Telemetry
- Location: Chattanooga, TN 37404
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,550 - $1,630
- Schedule: Every other weekend rotation expected
- Patient Ratio: 5-6 patients per nurse
- Unit Focus: 30-bed cardiac PCU with telemetry monitoring
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active RN license
- Minimum 1 year of recent registered nurse experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Strong cardiac nursing knowledge preferred
- Experience with Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone drips
- Comfort working with telemetry monitoring and rhythm strip interpretation
- Ability to manage chest tubes and wound vacs
- Experience with Meditech or similar electronic health record systems is a plus
Progressive Care Unit RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care to progressive care patients with cardiac and medical-surgical needs
- Monitor telemetry, acknowledge rhythm strips, and document findings accurately each shift
- Administer and titrate cardiac medications and drips as ordered
- Perform bedside rounding, hourly rounding, and proactive patient safety checks
- Manage chest tubes, wound vacs, and other unit-specific therapies
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely charting in the electronic medical record
- Participate in unit-based communication and support a culture of teamwork and accountability
