Travel Nurse Job Details

• Job Title: PCU Registered Nurse - Travel Assignment
• Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Cardiac Telemetry
• Location: Chattanooga, TN 37404
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,550 - $1,630
• Schedule: Every other weekend rotation expected
• Patient Ratio: 5-6 patients per nurse
• Unit Focus: 30-bed cardiac PCU with telemetry monitoring

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• Minimum 1 year of recent registered nurse experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Strong cardiac nursing knowledge preferred
• Experience with Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone drips
• Comfort working with telemetry monitoring and rhythm strip interpretation
• Ability to manage chest tubes and wound vacs
• Experience with Meditech or similar electronic health record systems is a plus

Progressive Care Unit RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to progressive care patients with cardiac and medical-surgical needs
• Monitor telemetry, acknowledge rhythm strips, and document findings accurately each shift
• Administer and titrate cardiac medications and drips as ordered
• Perform bedside rounding, hourly rounding, and proactive patient safety checks
• Manage chest tubes, wound vacs, and other unit-specific therapies
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely charting in the electronic medical record
• Participate in unit-based communication and support a culture of teamwork and accountability
