Job Details
- Position: ICU Registered Nurse
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Shift Time: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
- Schedule: 3 night shifts per week with every-other-weekend rotation and some holidays
- Orientation: 28 hours
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
- Setting: Critical care float pool with adult and geriatric patients
- Location: Madison, WI 53792
- Start Date: 9/14/2026
- License: Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license required
Job Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of recent acute care nursing experience
- At least 2 years of inpatient acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty area
- Experience in multiple ICU settings such as Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, Trauma ICU, or Medical ICU
- Trauma Level I experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Basic arrhythmia and telemetry interpretation skills required
- Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients
- Float as needed across multiple critical care and progressive care units
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Manage ventilated patients, vasoactive drips, sedation, and complex IV therapies
- Provide care for patients with advanced needs including trauma, neuro, burn, and cardiothoracic conditions
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support excellent patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation and timely communication within the care team
- Adapt quickly to changing patient assignments and high-acuity clinical priorities
