Job Details

• Position: PACU Registered Nurse (Post Anesthesia Care Unit RN)
• Setting: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Pre-Post Surgical Care
• Location: Morgantown, WV 26506
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,000 - $2,100
• Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, including one 0800-2030 shift
• Shift Options: 0500-1730, 0600-1830, 0700-1930, or 0800-2030
• Hours Per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
• Charting System: EPIC
• Orientation: Approximately 1 week
• Call: Required as needed, including weekends and holidays, with a 1-hour response time

PACU RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 1 year of PACU experience required
• Cardiac nursing experience preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Comfortable working in a high-acuity acute care environment
• Ability to read telemetry strips
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work independently in a recovery setting
• Experience with EPIC preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality post-anesthesia care for outpatient and inpatient surgical patients
• Monitor and assess patients recovering from procedures including cardiac, thoracic, vascular, electrophysiology, and structural heart cases
• Care for Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery patients, including moderate sedation recovery
• Collaborate with perioperative care assistants, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team
• Recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Support safe recovery for higher-acuity ICU-level patients as needed
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in EPIC
• Maintain a professional, patient-centered approach in a fast-paced recovery room environment
