Job Details
- Position: CVICU Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
- Location: Salt Lake City, UT 84124
- Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Job
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Hours Per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
- Schedule: Straight nights or 50/50 nights; 3 weekend shifts within a 4-week period
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
- Documentation System: EPIC
- Floating: May float to PCU or as a sitter anywhere in the inpatient hospital setting
- Unit Highlights: 24 beds, 46 staff members, patient ratios typically 1:2, with 1:3 for PCU boarders and 1:1 for sitters or higher-acuity cases
Job Requirements
- Active Utah RN license at the time of submission
- 2 years of ICU experience preferred; strong 1+ year ICU experience may be considered
- Cardiac nursing experience required
- Current ACLS certification required
- Experience with EPIC preferred
- Strong skills in ventilators, vasopressors, arterial lines, restraint use, and other ICU procedures
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented critical care environment
- Outgoing, adaptable, and dependable personality
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality care to cardiovascular and critically ill patients in the CVICU
- Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, including complex cardiac and respiratory needs
- Assist with and manage advanced procedures such as rapid sequence intubations, central line placement, bronchoscopy, arterial line placement, and chest tube placement
- Care for patients requiring ventilatory support, vasopressor therapy, and other critical care interventions
- Collaborate closely with physicians, surgeons, and interdisciplinary team members to support optimal patient outcomes
- Float as needed to PCU or sitter assignments within the inpatient hospital setting
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold unit standards using EPIC
