Job Details

• Setting: Progressive Care / Telemetry Unit
• Location: Asheville, NC 28801
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
• Schedule: Every other weekend required
• Charting System: Cerner
• Environment: 20-bed progressive care unit with telemetry monitoring and bedside hardwired monitors when indicated
• Patient Population: Mixed medical-surgical and step-down overflow, including short-stay and quick-turnover patients
• Floating: May be required to float to other units as needed

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of progressive care, telemetry, or step-down nursing experience required
• Telemetry competency required
• BLS and ACLS required
• Strong teamwork, compassion, and patient-centered communication skills
• Ability to adapt quickly in a busy, high-turnover acute care unit

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for progressive care and telemetry patients
• Monitor patient status, interpret telemetry data, and respond appropriately to changes in condition
• Collaborate with charge nurses, CNAs, and the broader healthcare team to support safe, efficient patient care
• Care for mixed-acuity medical-surgical and step-down overflow patients
• Support admissions, transfers, discharges, and rapid patient turnover
• Float to other units when needed to meet patient care demands
• Deliver compassionate care while maintaining a positive, team-oriented approach
