Overview

We are seeking a skilled Med/Surg Telemetry RN with strong acute care and telemetry nursing experience to support a 34-bed stroke telemetry medical-surgical unit. This role is best suited for nurses who are confident in neurological assessments, rhythm interpretation, and coordinating care across an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry or acute care nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification or equivalent competency
• Ability to read and interpret basic rhythm strips
• Strong assessment, documentation, and patient safety skills
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-turnover healthcare environment
• Experience with interdisciplinary teamwork and care coordination preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform frequent neurological assessments, including NIH Stroke Scale evaluations
• Monitor telemetry rhythms and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications safely using barcode medication administration standards
• Support stroke core measures, including dysphagia screening, education, and care planning
• Collaborate with providers, therapy, and case management to coordinate patient care
• Manage admissions, discharges, and patient flow efficiently
• Maintain a strong focus on falls prevention, skin integrity, and overall patient safety
• Work closely with primary and team nursing to provide high-quality, evidence-based care
