Job Requirements

• Active RN license in the state of practice or compact licensure eligibility
• At least 1 year of registered nurse experience required
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire; BLS strongly preferred
• NIH Stroke Certification preferred
• PCU, stepdown, progressive care, or acute care hospital experience preferred
• Ability to manage dysrhythmias and respond to changing patient conditions
• Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process from assessment through evaluation
• Monitor and manage patients with complex medical conditions in a progressive care unit setting
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with nursing standards and policy
• Support patients and families through education, coordination, and compassionate communication
• Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Recognize changes in patient status and respond quickly with appropriate clinical action
• Maintain accurate documentation and promote patient safety at all times
• Use evidence-based practice to help improve patient outcomes and unit performance
