NICU Registered Nurse – Travel Nursing Job in Austin, TX 78705

Experienced NICU Registered Nurse needed for a 13-week travel nursing assignment in a high-acuity Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Austin, Texas. • Position: NICU Registered Nurse
• Employment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nursing Assignment

• Start Date: ASAP
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours Per Week: 36
• On-Call: Required
• Weekend Commitment: Approximately 4 weekend shifts per schedule
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,570 - $1,650

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of NICU nursing experience
• At least 2 years of Level IV NICU experience preferred
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Experience in a high-acuity neonatal intensive care setting
• Strong team-oriented mindset and adaptable attitude
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed
• Familiarity with Meditech and CPN is helpful

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to critically ill newborns in the NICU
• Monitor patient status and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, charge nurses, and support staff
• Administer treatments and manage neonatal equipment, including ventilators, isolettes, feeding pumps, and IV pumps
• Support patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 4:1 depending on acuity
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Maintain a professional appearance and follow unit guidelines, including navy scrubs
• Contribute to a positive, flexible, and team-focused NICU culture
