- Setting: Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Shift Duration: 12 hours
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,200 - $2,320
- Start Date: September 14, 2026
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: Self-scheduling with block scheduling available
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend may be required, depending on shift needs
- Charting System: EPIC
- Location: Peoria, IL
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license
- NICU or critical care nursing experience preferred
- Level III or Level IV NICU experience strongly preferred
- BLS certification required
- NRP certification required
- Experience caring for micro-preemies preferred
- Comfort titrating drips per order and managing high-acuity neonatal patients
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and participate in weekend coverage as needed
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary neonatal care team
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to critically ill and medically fragile newborns in a Level III NICU
- Monitor and manage infants with complex conditions, including respiratory and surgical needs
- Administer and titrate medications per provider orders, including commonly used ICU drips
- Support patients on conventional ventilation, CPAP, high flow, and other advanced respiratory therapies
- Collaborate closely with neonatologists, advanced practice providers, charge nurses, and respiratory therapy
- Respond quickly to changing patient conditions and participate in high-acuity neonatal interventions
- Float to related pediatric or neonatal areas as needed based on unit needs
- Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and contribute to a positive, team-oriented care environment
