- Shift Options: Day shifts (07:00 - 19:30) or night shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, with some holidays
- Float Requirement: Yes, floating as needed
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,160 - $2,270
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience in the CVICU or a closely related specialty
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
- Experience with Epic charting system required
- Experience with NextStage CVVH machine required
- Telemetry knowledge required; traveler must pass a telemetry exam prior to start
- Trauma Level I experience required
- Travel RN experience preferred
- Strong clinical background with comfort caring for adult and geriatric cardiac patients
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, high-quality nursing care to CVICU patients with complex cardiac and thoracic conditions
- Monitor and manage patients recovering from CABG, valve repair/replacement, transplant, and other advanced cardiac procedures
- Care for patients requiring specialized support such as CRRT, IABP, Impella, LVAD, ECMO, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
- Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips in accordance with unit protocols
- Interpret dysrhythmias and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote safe, coordinated patient care
- Support patients and families with compassionate, attentive care in a fast-paced ICU environment
- Adapt to changing assignments and contribute to a highly collaborative team culture
