Job Details
- Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse
- Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Cardiac Stepdown
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts
- Hours Per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
- Weekend Requirement: Minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
- Call: No call required
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
- Float Expectations: May float to stepdown, med-surg, or ER inpatient holding areas as needed

Job Requirements
- Active RN license
- Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience in stepdown, telemetry, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), or a similar acute care setting
- Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry skills
- ACLS certification required
- BLS certification required
- Experience with cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery patients preferred
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented hospital environment
- Ability to adapt to floating assignments when needed
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care for cardiovascular progressive care patients, including post-op CABG, AVR, MVR, Bentall, TAVR, lobectomy, thoracotomy, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass, and carotid endarterectomy cases
- Care for overflow medical cardiology patients with conditions such as heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, and heart block
- Monitor telemetry, assess patient status, and respond quickly to changes in condition
- Manage cardiac drips, including phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, and ketamine
- Perform or assist with epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, and IV Glucommander-related care
- Document patient care accurately in Cerner
- Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, PCTs, and the broader care team to support safe, high-quality patient outcomes
- Maintain a patient-centered approach while contributing to a flexible and supportive unit culture
