• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts
• Hours Per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
• Weekend Requirement: Minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
• Call: No call required
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
• Float Expectations: May float to stepdown, med-surg, or ER inpatient holding areas as needed

Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience in stepdown, telemetry, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), or a similar acute care setting
• Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry skills
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• Experience with cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery patients preferred
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented hospital environment
• Ability to adapt to floating assignments when needed

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care for cardiovascular progressive care patients, including post-op CABG, AVR, MVR, Bentall, TAVR, lobectomy, thoracotomy, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass, and carotid endarterectomy cases
• Care for overflow medical cardiology patients with conditions such as heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, and heart block
• Monitor telemetry, assess patient status, and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Manage cardiac drips, including phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, and ketamine
• Perform or assist with epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, and IV Glucommander-related care
• Document patient care accurately in Cerner
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, PCTs, and the broader care team to support safe, high-quality patient outcomes
• Maintain a patient-centered approach while contributing to a flexible and supportive unit culture
