Travel ICU Registered Nurse - Trauma ICU Job in Madison, Wisconsin

  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks
  • Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
  • Shifts Per Week: 3 shifts per week
  • Shift Schedule: Day shifts, with hours between 7:00 AM and 7:30 PM; some evening coverage may be included
  • Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and some holidays required
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 - $2,250

Job Requirements

  • Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
  • Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required
  • Recent acute care experience within the specialty preferred
  • Experience caring for medical, surgical, and trauma ICU patients
  • Epic charting experience required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required through AHA
  • Ability to successfully complete a telemetry exam prior to start
  • Strong critical care knowledge, teamwork, and adaptability in a high-acuity environment
  • Willingness to float as needed

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients
  • Monitor and manage complex ICU patients with diagnoses including trauma, sepsis, respiratory failure, post-op recovery, GI bleeds, and multisystem organ dysfunction
  • Perform advanced critical care interventions such as ventilator management, arterial line care, central line management, and vasoactive drip titration
  • Support patients requiring advanced therapies including ECMO and continuous dialysis
  • Interpret dysrhythmias and ABGs, and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
  • Assist with procedures and emergency response needs throughout the hospital
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and other interdisciplinary partners
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow established ICU protocols and safety standards
  • Float as needed to support patient care across the unit or related areas
