- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
- Shifts Per Week: 3 shifts per week
- Shift Schedule: Day shifts, with hours between 7:00 AM and 7:30 PM; some evening coverage may be included
- Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and some holidays required
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
Job Requirements
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required
- Recent acute care experience within the specialty preferred
- Experience caring for medical, surgical, and trauma ICU patients
- Epic charting experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required through AHA
- Ability to successfully complete a telemetry exam prior to start
- Strong critical care knowledge, teamwork, and adaptability in a high-acuity environment
- Willingness to float as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients
- Monitor and manage complex ICU patients with diagnoses including trauma, sepsis, respiratory failure, post-op recovery, GI bleeds, and multisystem organ dysfunction
- Perform advanced critical care interventions such as ventilator management, arterial line care, central line management, and vasoactive drip titration
- Support patients requiring advanced therapies including ECMO and continuous dialysis
- Interpret dysrhythmias and ABGs, and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
- Assist with procedures and emergency response needs throughout the hospital
- Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and other interdisciplinary partners
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow established ICU protocols and safety standards
- Float as needed to support patient care across the unit or related areas
