Job Details

• Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Ortho-Neuro
• Location: Parkersburg, WV 26101
• Healthcare Setting: Acute care Med/Surg unit
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,930–$2,030
• Schedule: 12-hour days, weekends as scheduled
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Required to other Med/Surg units as needed
• Charting System: EPIC

Job Requirements

• Active RN license eligible for submission
• Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience or relevant acute care experience
• EPIC charting experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience caring for orthopedic patients and managing PCA pumps
• Comfort working in a fast-paced medical-surgical unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Ability to work every other weekend and float when needed
• Reliable, professional communication and attention to time-off requests during prescreening

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for orthopedic, neuro-surgical, and general Med/Surg patients
• Monitor patient conditions, administer treatments, and support recovery plans
• Manage IV fluids and PCA pumps according to unit practices
• Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care techs, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Document accurately in EPIC and maintain a safe, efficient workflow
• Support patient mobility, post-operative care, and discharge readiness
• Adapt to unit needs, including floating to other Med/Surg areas when assigned
• Deliver compassionate bedside care while helping maintain a positive patient experience
