Join a dynamic medical-surgical team in Kansas City, Missouri for a 13-week travel assignment. This role offers the chance to support a busy ortho/trauma unit within a respected acute care environment, where you’ll care for a diverse patient population and collaborate with a supportive clinical team. Kansas City’s 64132 area offers the energy of a vibrant metro, with convenient access to dining, entertainment, and local attractions.

Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active RN license
- BLS certification
- At least 1 year of Med/Surg, orthopedic nursing, or trauma nursing experience
- Experience with telemetry preferred
- NIH Stroke Scale experience helpful
- Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care hospital environment
- Comfortable floating to similar level-of-care Med/Surg units as needed
Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for post-op orthopedic and trauma patients
- Care for patients following knee, hip, and shoulder replacements
- Support patients with trauma needs and occasional neuro overflow cases
- Monitor and document patient conditions accurately in Meditech
- Perform bedside shift report and hourly rounding to enhance patient experience
- Collaborate with unit secretaries, patient care techs (PCTs), and the interdisciplinary care team
- Assist with patient needs involving traction, fixators, and cooling equipment
- Float to other Med/Surg units when needed based on contract expectations
