Overview

This 26-week travel CVOR Registered Nurse assignment is seeking a confident cardiovascular operating room nurse with strong circulating skills and a background in cardiac surgery. Scrub experience is preferred. The schedule includes daytime hours with a structured call rotation, making this an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys consistency and the variety of cardiovascular surgical care.

Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in hand; pending or emergency licenses are not accepted
• At least 1 year of direct CVOR or cardiac surgery experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• ACLS and BLS through the AHA required
• Ability to circulate cardiac surgery cases required
• Scrub experience preferred
• Experience with cardiovascular procedures such as CABG, valve replacement, TAVR, LVAD/RVAD, MAZE, and IABP preferred
• Ability to arrive within 30 minutes when on call

Responsibilities

• Circulate cardiac surgery cases in a cardiovascular operating room setting
• Support a variety of complex surgical procedures, including general OR cases as needed
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative team members to deliver safe, efficient patient care
• Maintain readiness for on-call assignments and weekend coverage as scheduled
• Assist with high-acuity surgical workflows while prioritizing quality and patient safety
• Contribute to a smooth perioperative experience for adolescents and adults
• Adapt quickly to a dynamic travel assignment and established surgical standards
