- Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 12-hour day shifts with rotating day/evening coverage options
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Call: Required, including weeknight and weekend call coverage
- Weekend Coverage: Up to 2 weekend call shifts per 4-week schedule
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250 - $2,370
Job Requirements
- Active Michigan RN license in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room nursing experience
- Experience in a Level I Trauma Center or trauma OR setting required
- Epic charting experience required
- BLS certification required
- CAC certification required
- General OR and trauma experience required
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care in a busy Operating Room environment
- Support a wide range of surgical cases, including trauma, orthopedic, general surgery, urology, plastics, ophthalmology, and more
- Assist with circulating and/or scrub responsibilities based on unit needs and experience
- Maintain patient safety through strict adherence to sterile technique, universal protocol, and infection prevention standards
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure smooth case flow
- Document accurately in Epic and maintain clear, timely communication throughout the surgical process
- Participate in call coverage and respond to urgent and emergent surgical cases as needed
- Deliver compassionate care to adult and geriatric patients in a high-acuity, fast-moving setting
