Job Details
- Position: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
- Employment Type: Travel contract
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250-$2,370
- Location: Ann Arbor, MI 48109
- Start Date: 09/14/2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift Duration: 12-hour days
- Schedule: Day shift rotation options may include 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM, or 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM
- Hours per Week: 36
- Call: Yes, including weeknight and weekend call
- Weekend Coverage: Up to 2 weekend call shifts per 4-week schedule
- Orientation: 72 hours onsite
- Charting System: Epic
- Setting: Level I Trauma Center, primarily adult patient population
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Room nursing experience
- General OR and trauma experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Active Michigan RN license in hand at time of submission
- BLS and CAC certifications required prior to start
- Experience in a Level I Trauma environment required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Ability to work call shifts and support weekend coverage as scheduled
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care in the operating room
- Circulate and support a broad range of surgical cases, including trauma, orthopedic, general surgery, urology, plastics, and ophthalmology
- Prepare patients, surgical suites, instruments, and equipment for procedures
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary staff to ensure efficient case flow
- Maintain strict sterile technique and follow all OR safety, infection control, and universal protocol standards
- Respond effectively to urgent and emergent surgical needs in a high-acuity environment
- Document accurately in Epic and support smooth transitions of care throughout the surgical experience
- Participate in call coverage and support the unit during scheduled weeknight and weekend needs
