This role supports an advanced care cardiac stepdown and telemetry unit focused on pulmonary and cardiac patients. Nurses collaborate closely with respiratory therapy and interdisciplinary support teams to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care for patients with complex medical needs.

Job Details

• Position: Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown / Telemetry
• Location: Dayton, Ohio 45409
• Assignment Type: Travel RN
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,860–$1,960
• Charting System: Epic preferred
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend/holiday required
• Unit Setting: Adult cardiac stepdown, telemetry, and pulmonary care

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in any U.S. state or compact license accepted
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent experience in stepdown or PCU nursing
• Experience with a 1:5 patient ratio required
• BLS and ACLS required
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Ventilator experience required
• Epic experience preferred
• EKG tele competency assessment must be completed before start
• Experience caring for patients with pulmonary, cardiac, and complex medical needs
• Willingness to float as needed based on census and unit needs

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a cardiac stepdown environment
• Monitor telemetry, interpret rhythm changes, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Care for patients requiring tracheostomy support, non-invasive ventilation, and high-flow oxygen therapy
• Manage cardiac drips, heparin protocols, insulin drips, and other ordered therapies
• Perform comprehensive assessments and collaborate with the care team to plan and deliver treatment
• Support patients with COPD, CHF, pneumonia, sepsis, DKA, and post-COVID conditions
• Work closely with respiratory therapy and interdisciplinary support services
• Participate in team nursing or primary nursing workflows based on unit needs
• Maintain safe, organized, and compassionate care in a fast-paced inpatient setting
• Float to comparable units or nearby facilities when needed and clinically appropriate
