Job Details
- Position: ICU Registered Nurse / Travel ICU RN
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Schedule: Typically 3 shifts per week, with every other weekend and some holidays
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: September 28, 2026
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
- Setting: High-acuity critical care float pool
- Location: Madison, WI 53792

Job Requirements
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in a critical care or comparable inpatient RN setting
- 5 years of ICU or critical care nursing experience preferred
- Experience working across multiple ICU settings, such as Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, Trauma ICU, and Medical/Surgical ICU
- Epic charting experience required
- BLS and ACLS required (AHA only)
- NIHSS and TNCC preferred
- Basic arrhythmia and telemetry interpretation experience required
- Must pass a telemetry test prior to start
- Trauma Level I experience required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Ability to float as needed across ICU and progressive care units
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a high-acuity ICU float environment
- Care for patients with complex needs across multiple critical care populations
- Monitor, assess, and respond quickly to changes in patient condition in real time
- Manage advanced therapies and critical care equipment as needed
- Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapies safely and accurately
- Interpret telemetry rhythms and recognize life-threatening changes promptly
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and other interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to support safe, effective patient care
- Float between designated ICU and progressive care units based on staffing needs
- Maintain strong documentation and follow facility policies and clinical standards
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment in a Magnet-designated academic setting
