Job Requirements
- Active RN license in Texas or a compact state
- At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience or related perinatal RN experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Current C-EFM certification or AWHONN Intermediate FHM
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Current ACLS certification (AHA)
- Current NRP certification
- Perinatal RN residency or recent experience in a perinatal setting preferred
- Ability to complete orientation, competency validation, and annual requirements
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients throughout the labor and delivery process
- Use the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care
- Support patients and families with complex emotional, cultural, psychological, and social needs
- Administer medications and treatments according to protocol and monitor for effectiveness and side effects
- Document patient history, symptoms, care delivered, and progress accurately and thoroughly
- Educate patients, family members, and caregivers on care plans, resources, and learning needs
- Collaborate with the care team and delegate appropriately to support safe, efficient patient care
