Job Requirements

• Active RN license in Texas or a compact state
• BLS certification from AHA required
• At least 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Ability to work independently in a clinical setting
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient care skills
• Prior operating room, perioperative, or surgical nursing experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex nursing care in the operating room setting
• Use the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocol and monitor patient response
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately
• Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on care needs, resources, and recovery expectations
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks when needed to support safe care delivery
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiology, and perioperative team members to ensure quality patient outcomes
