• Job Title: Travel PCU Registered Nurse / Stepdown Cardiac RN
• Setting: Progressive Care Unit / Stepdown Cardiac Unit
• Location: Lima, Ohio
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Shifts per Week: 3 shifts per week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910-$2,010
• Schedule Notes: Every other weekend and every other holiday may be required
• Unit Size: 18 beds
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice or compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required
• Acute care hospital experience preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke certification required
• Experience with pre/post cath lab patients strongly preferred
• Experience caring for patients with vents and trachs preferred
• Comfort working with dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, and complex cardiac patients
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care using the nursing process from assessment through evaluation
• Monitor and manage patients with cardiac, telemetry, and stepdown needs, including post-cath, post-pacer, and post-procedure care
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with state practice standards and unit policies
• Care for patients receiving drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, and Insulin
• Provide care for patients requiring advanced respiratory support, including BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, trachs, and vents
• Assess and respond to changes in patient condition quickly and confidently in an acute care environment
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate treatment and patient teaching
• Support patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice in a high-acuity unit
• Maintain professionalism, adaptability, and strong communication in a fast-paced travel nursing assignment
