• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
• Setting: Acute care Cardiac Stepdown / Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Location: Peoria, Illinois 61637
• Start Date: 09/14/2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation; block scheduling may be considered
• Charting System: EPIC
• Orientation: Unit and system orientation provided

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• Minimum of 1 year of recent ICU, Intermediate Care, Cardiac Stepdown, or Progressive Care experience required
• Progressive care or telemetry-only experience is not sufficient
• Strong experience caring for trached and ventilated patients
• Ability to titrate drips and manage high-acuity cardiac and respiratory patients
• BLS required
• ACLS recommended
• Comfort working in a collaborative, fast-paced acute care and travel nursing environment

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care for Cardiac Stepdown patients with complex medical needs
• Monitor and manage patients with CHF, COPD, sepsis, renal issues, DKA, respiratory compromise, and post-surgical or cardiac conditions
• Administer and titrate IV drips as ordered, including cardiac and vasoactive medications
• Care for patients on BiPAP, CPAP, ventilators, tracheostomy support, chest tubes, NG tubes, G-tubes, PICC lines, and central lines
• Work closely with the charge nurse, house supervisor, and patient care techs to support patient flow and quality outcomes
• Float to comparable levels of care as needed based on clinical experience
• Use bedside monitors and EPIC documentation to maintain accurate, timely charting
