• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour day shifts
• Shift Duration: 12 hours
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 09/28/2026
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday rotation
• Charting System: EPIC
• Orientation: 3 days total, including EPIC, unit orientation, and floor time

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Illinois, or confirmation that the application process has begun
• Previous experience caring for ventilated and tracheostomy patients required
• Strong skills in titrating drips and managing higher-acuity medical patients
• BLS required
• ACLS recommended
• Comfort working in a 3:1 patient ratio environment
• Ability to care for patients with cardiac, respiratory, renal, and post-surgical diagnoses

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care for stepdown patients with complex medical needs
• Monitor and manage patients requiring telemetry and bedside cardiac monitoring
• Titrate medications and drips such as Cardene, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Heparin, and vasopressors as appropriate
• Care for patients with COPD, CHF, diabetes, sepsis, renal conditions, DKA, withdrawal, pneumonia, and other respiratory or cardiac concerns
• Support patients on BiPAP, CPAP, ventilators, tracheostomies, chest tubes, G-tubes, NG tubes, PICC lines, and central lines
• Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, PCTs, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Float as needed to ICU, stepdown, or general medicine based on clinical experience and unit needs
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate changes in patient condition promptly
