• Location: Peoria, Illinois 61637
• Type: Travel nursing assignment
• Setting: Acute care Surgical Acute / Medical-Surgical unit
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:30 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Rotate every other holiday
• Charting System: EPIC
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
• Orientation: Two shifts with a preceptor, plus additional unit and EPIC orientation

Job Requirements

• Active RN license eligible for work in Illinois
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing or acute care RN experience
• BLS certification required
• Strong clinical judgment and post-op care skills
• Ability to care for patients with surgical, trauma, overflow medical, wound care, IV therapy, pain management, drains, NG tubes, central lines, and TPN needs
• Comfortable working night shift in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Excellent bedside manner, communication skills, and a team-oriented attitude
• Willingness to float to units with similar experience levels as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care for post-op surgical and medical-surgical patients
• Monitor patient conditions, assess changes, and respond appropriately using strong critical thinking skills
• Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and support wound care and pain management plans
• Care for patients requiring drains, NG tubes, central lines, TPN, and telemetry monitoring
• Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, PCTs, and the broader healthcare team to deliver efficient patient care
• Support patients on CPAP or high-flow oxygen as needed, with respiratory therapy involvement when appropriate
• Document accurately in EPIC and maintain clear communication throughout the shift
• Float to similar units when needed and assist wherever patient care demands are highest
