- Start Date: September 21, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
- Orientation: Every other Monday
- Holiday Requirement: Must work at least one major holiday
- Additional Opportunity: 36-hour or 48-hour contract options may be available
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent registered nurse experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license required at start
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Charge nurse experience preferred; charge responsibility required for this assignment
- Strong experience with med-surg, telemetry, cardiac stepdown, IMCU/IMC, neuro, and CVA patient populations preferred
- Must submit a complete work history, skills checklist, Nursys/license copy, and explanations for any employment gaps over 90 days
- Requested time off must be included at time of submission
- Comfort working in a teaching-hospital environment with students and new hires
- Approved declinations for COVID and flu may be accepted
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to intermediate care and cardiac stepdown patients
- Care for a mixed patient population including med-surg, telemetry, cardiac IMCU, neuro, and CVA cases
- Perform charge nurse duties and support unit operations when assigned
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, effective patient care
- Adapt quickly to changing unit needs, patient acuity, and census fluctuations
- Support a positive learning environment for students and new staff
- Maintain strong communication, documentation, and clinical standards throughout the assignment
