• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
• Orientation: Every other Monday
• Holiday Requirement: Must work at least one major holiday
• Additional Opportunity: 36-hour or 48-hour contract options may be available

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent registered nurse experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license required at start
• ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Charge nurse experience preferred; charge responsibility required for this assignment
• Strong experience with med-surg, telemetry, cardiac stepdown, IMCU/IMC, neuro, and CVA patient populations preferred
• Must submit a complete work history, skills checklist, Nursys/license copy, and explanations for any employment gaps over 90 days
• Requested time off must be included at time of submission
• Comfort working in a teaching-hospital environment with students and new hires
• Approved declinations for COVID and flu may be accepted

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to intermediate care and cardiac stepdown patients
• Care for a mixed patient population including med-surg, telemetry, cardiac IMCU, neuro, and CVA cases
• Perform charge nurse duties and support unit operations when assigned
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, effective patient care
• Adapt quickly to changing unit needs, patient acuity, and census fluctuations
• Support a positive learning environment for students and new staff
• Maintain strong communication, documentation, and clinical standards throughout the assignment
