Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or a Compact state; pending license may be considered
• Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac floor experience required
• Prior telemetry nursing experience required
• Travel nurse experience preferred unless you have more than 24 months of cardiac experience
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, cardiac drips, sheath removal, and post-MI care
• Comfortable using Epic charting and common telemetry monitoring equipment
• Ability to work nights, weekends as scheduled, and float within or near the facility as needed
• Must complete required testing and pre-start modules before beginning the assignment

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality cardiac telemetry nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with vascular and cardiac diagnoses
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, respond to changes in patient condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Manage cardiac drips per protocol and assist with sheath management and sheath removal
• Care for patients recovering from procedures such as CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, pacemaker placement, and electrophysiology interventions
• Support post-cath, post-DCCV, thoracic, and vascular surgery patients
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate patient care
• Document accurately in Epic and communicate clearly using SBAR and unit standards
• Adapt to varying acuity levels while maintaining a patient-centered approach in a fast-paced hospital setting
