Overview
This is a 13-week travel nursing assignment on a 12-hour night schedule in a 12-bed cardiac stepdown / intermediate care (IMC) unit serving adult and geriatric patients. The role offers 36 or 48 hours per week, with every-other-weekend and holiday coverage expected. Epic experience is required, and pending Virginia licensure may be accepted prior to start.

- Patient Census: Approximately 10 patients per day
- Bed Count: 12 beds
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Schedule Notes: Every other weekend and every other holiday; block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
- Charting System: Epic experience required
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or pending Virginia license accepted prior to start
- Minimum of 1 year of recent nursing experience required
- BLS and ACLS required
- Epic experience required
- Experience with cardiac telemetry, stepdown, or progressive care strongly preferred
- Ability to care for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical and surgical needs
- BSN preferred
- Comfort working nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality bedside care to cardiac stepdown and intermediate care patients
- Monitor telemetry and recognize changes in cardiac rhythm, hemodynamics, or patient condition
- Manage complex patient needs with strong clinical judgment and attention to detail
- Support post-surgical, trauma-related, and medically complex patient populations
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, IV teams, pharmacy, radiology, and other support services
- Administer medications, complete assessments, and document care accurately in Epic
- Maintain a safe, organized, and patient-centered care environment
- Respond appropriately to escalating patient needs and assist with rapid response processes when necessary
