Overview

This is a 13-week travel nursing assignment on a 12-hour night schedule in a 12-bed cardiac stepdown / intermediate care (IMC) unit serving adult and geriatric patients. The role offers 36 or 48 hours per week, with every-other-weekend and holiday coverage expected. Epic experience is required, and pending Virginia licensure may be accepted prior to start.

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or pending Virginia license accepted prior to start
• Minimum of 1 year of recent nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS required
• Epic experience required
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, stepdown, or progressive care strongly preferred
• Ability to care for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical and surgical needs
• BSN preferred
• Comfort working nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality bedside care to cardiac stepdown and intermediate care patients
• Monitor telemetry and recognize changes in cardiac rhythm, hemodynamics, or patient condition
• Manage complex patient needs with strong clinical judgment and attention to detail
• Support post-surgical, trauma-related, and medically complex patient populations
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, IV teams, pharmacy, radiology, and other support services
• Administer medications, complete assessments, and document care accurately in Epic
• Maintain a safe, organized, and patient-centered care environment
• Respond appropriately to escalating patient needs and assist with rapid response processes when necessary
