Job Details
- Location: Fort Wayne, IN 46845
- Healthcare Setting: Acute care, Cardiac Stepdown / Neuro Stepdown / Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Hours: 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Start Date: 9/21/2026
- Duration: 22 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,000 - $2,100
- Charting System: EPIC
- Orientation: Jumpstart program, EPIC training, and 1-2 unit-based training days
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of PCU, Progressive Care, or Stepdown RN experience required
- Previous neuro experience required
- Active Indiana RN license or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Current ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required, or ability to obtain before start
- Ability to work night shift and adapt to a collaborative acute care environment
- Drip titration experience preferred for experienced cardiac and stepdown nurses
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled bedside nursing care for neuro stepdown and progressive care patients
- Monitor patient condition closely and respond quickly to changes in status
- Administer medications and manage therapies according to unit protocols and patient needs
- Support drip titration for patients requiring advanced clinical monitoring
- Float to like units as needed, including MedSurg when appropriate
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and the care team to promote safe patient outcomes
- Use EPIC, PYXIS, Philips defibrillators, and Philips bedside monitors in daily workflow
- Maintain safe patient ratios of approximately 3-4:1 on progressive care and 4-5:1 on MedSurg
