• Position: Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN)
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse Assignment
• Setting: Acute care, IMCU / Stepdown, cardiac telemetry
• Location: Kankakee, Illinois
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 5:00 AM - 5:30 PM
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 09/14/2026
• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Floating: May float to ICU for PCU-level patients or to Med Surg for a full assignment
• Charting System: EPIC

Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in hand
• Minimum 1 year of registered nurse experience required
• EPIC experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Travel nursing experience preferred, but first-time travelers are welcome
• Driver’s license required for submission
• Ability to provide high-quality nursing care in a cardiac/stepdown environment
• Positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and excellent clinical judgment
• Experience titrating drips preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to cardiac stepdown and IMCU patients
• Monitor and manage patients with cardiac, post-op, and complex medical conditions
• Titrate medications such as Cardizem, amiodarone, nitro, insulin, heparin, and dopamine/dobutamine as ordered
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support quality patient outcomes
• Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
• Document accurately in EPIC and maintain strong clinical communication
• Support safe patient flow, including floating to ICU or Med Surg when needed
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented unit culture
