Job Details

• Position: Psychiatric Registered Nurse (Psych RN)
• Location: Springfield, MO 65806
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse Assignment
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Hours Per Week: 36 hours guaranteed
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,570 - $1,650
• Start Date: 9/14/2026

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of recent Behavioral Health or Psychiatric Nursing experience required
• Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and seniors
• Experience with paper charting preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour overnight shifts and every other weekend
• Strong communication, observation, assessment, and de-escalation skills
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered mental health care

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, supportive nursing care in a behavioral health and psychiatric setting
• Monitor patients for changes in mood, behavior, mental status, and clinical condition
• Support individualized care plans and therapeutic programming
• Collaborate with the treatment team to promote stabilization, recovery, and discharge planning
• Document patient information accurately using paper charting workflows
• Care for patients with behavioral disorders, memory disorders, mental health disorders, and mood disorders
• Maintain a calm, professional, and therapeutic environment for patients of all ages
