• Position: Psychiatric Registered Nurse (Psych RN)
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Setting: Acute inpatient behavioral health / psychiatric nursing
• Location: Springfield, Missouri
• Start Date: 09/14/2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour evening or mid shifts
• Schedule: Must work every other weekend
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,570 - $1,650

Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or credential
• At least 1 year of recent behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience, preferably within the last year
• Experience caring for patients across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors
• Comfortable with paper charting in an inpatient behavioral health setting
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Strong communication, observation, documentation, and de-escalation skills

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate psychiatric nursing care to patients experiencing behavioral health conditions
• Support individualized treatment plans for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors
• Monitor patient status, document care accurately, and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary care team
• Assist with stabilization-focused inpatient care and therapeutic programming
• Promote a safe, respectful, and structured environment for patients and staff
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to support recovery goals
